Interview of MBA Professional

When I got to any MBA student gathering now and meet someone new, three questions are invariably asked. These are - "Where are you from?", "What did/do you do?" and "What do you plan on doing after bschool?". Pretty natural, given the types of backgrounds we have, and the fact that these are as good conversation starters as any. Its the answer to the first however, that can occasionally pose a challenge to people like me whose identities are complicated by multiple associations.
Let me explain. The first and most common way to define identity is by your birth and antecedents. Thus, I'm Indian, and more specifically, am Tamil, by virtue of specific regional and linguistic affiliations. However, I grew up in Delhi and Kolkata, and having spent more time during my childhood in Bangalore - tend to think of myself as being "from" here. But the India I'm visiting now hardly bears any resemblance to the country that I grew up in. If 18 is the age you're considered an adult, then I've spent a majority of my adult life outside of India, specifically in the United States. Should I then say that I'm from California - since I spent 5 years there? (and am a Terminator fan!)

These three training purpose develop the skills, intellect and problem solving ideas to the employee.
Now, we can say that importance of training main purpose is sound management, for it makes employees more effective and productive. Importance of training widely known as, “training is widely accepted problem-solving device. Indeed, our national superiority in manpower productivity can be attributed in no small measure to the success of our educational and industrial training programmes.”
Now, we can look into need and importance of management development by Dr. B. K. Madan, “Mangement development is the development of management over and above its science and theory, of its practice and application in organization, corporations and institutions, alike in relation to the organization and manager, so as continuously to re-equip both to fulfill their purposes more effectively and in harmony with each other, and both with the environment in which they function and have their being and hope to thrive upon and grow.”
About the training evaluation MBA book MB 0027 writes, “Objectives of training evaluation is to determine the ability of the participant in the training programme to perform jobs for which they were trained, the specific nature of training deficiencies, whether the trainees required any additional on the job training, and the extent of training not needed for the participants to meet job requirements. There are various approaches to training evolution. To get a valid measure of training effectiveness, the personnel manager should accurately assess trainee’s job performance two to four months after completion of training.”

Share Experince of MBA Student

How do you define the richness of your life? I don't mean your life right now, rather when you are eighty years old and look back on your life, what criteria would you use?
Many people try to live vicariously through their kids and grandkids. They link their success to the success of their kids, usually the conventional indicators - job, house, car blah blah blah. Others simply look at their bank balance. There are so many other things to consider - time spent being happy, a successful career in Accounting, circle of close friends, vacations etc etc.
It will probably be a combination of the things that I listed above and some more. But what I would value the most is the sum total of unique, different experiences. The more unusual the experience, the better it is. For example, last week I trekked alone in temperatures of -7 F (-21 C!) to get to a frozen waterfall. It was not particularly eventful, but I will cherish this day trip far more than a conventional vacation. In other words, what I don't want is a monotonous life.
I remember one of the cases we discussed in class, I think it was Marketing, where the problem was about marketing a product that was poorly-designed and ill-fitting for its intended customers.
Why that case specifically? I remember it because I'm involved in the marketing/development of a new product/service from one of the major companies here in Manila.
The firm is hoping that it can use its marketing clout and invest a lot in internet marketing to push the product and acquire customers. But from what I'm seeing so far, the product/service is not 100%, inferior to its competitors, and full of OTSU's The kicker is that the firm wants to launch it soon.
